Tim trained in experimental and applied psychology (B.Sc., Dip App Psych & PhD, all from Uni of Nottingham) and then in Health Services Research and Health Technology Assessment (M.Sc. from Uni of Sheffield). He has worked in medical and health research collaborations in a career spanning four universities Nottingham, Cambridge, York and currently, with Dundee. He is based in the School of Health Sciences but works across Schools in Dundee for the Institute for Social Science Research (ISSR).
His research and collaborations span the design and analysis of cohort studies and evaluations of health care including trials of interventions and analysis of questionnaire responses (over 150 publications). He co-supervises inter-disciplinary projects and PhDs. He has a passion for mentoring and research capacity building and working on complex intervention development and evaluation projects.
