Dr Mya Lelt Win
Mya is a Cardiology Registrar at NHS Tayside, known for her enthusiasm and motivation in clinical practice. She is deeply interested in both clinical and academic medicine, currently working as a Clinical Research Fellow in the iDiabetes Precision Diabetes Care Project. In addition to her role, she is pursuing a Medical Doctorate at the University of Dundee. Her doctoral research focuses on the early identification of heart failure and cardiovascular diseases in diabetes patients using cardiac biomarkers and artificial intelligence-driven echocardiography, reflecting her commitment to advancing patient care through innovative research.
Dr Damien Leith
Damien is a gastroenterology & hepatology registrar and clinical research fellow working on the iDiabetes project. He is also studying for his PhD at the University of Dundee, looking at how to effectively identify and treat steatotic (fatty) liver disease associated with diabetes and a way of more accurately assessing alcohol intake.
Dr Rachael Barrett
Rachael is a Clinical registrar in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and General Internal Medicine in NHS Tayside. She is currently working as a Clinical Research Fellow with the iDiabetes team. Rachael is studying for her PhD at the University of Dundee focusing on health inequalities and how these are influenced by precision medicine.
Dr YeunYi Lin
YeunYi is a diabetes and endocrinology registrar in NHS Tayside. She is working with the iDiabetes team as a clinical research fellow while studying her PhD degree at the University of Dundee. Her research interest is in the utility of C-peptide in type 2 diabetes.
